Accommodation starts at £40 per person, in the upstairs farmhouse bedrooms of Orchard House itself.

Since May 2010, we have been able to offer flexible modern en-suite bedrooms in our wonderful 'grand designs' Barn conversion.

Double (super-king size) or twin bedded room £75

Single occupancy rate is £40.

All rooms have TV with Freeview, and there is no charge for our Wireless Broadband connection which is also accessible from each room.

For guests with a longer stay in mind we are happy to discuss discounted rates.

Transport

In Mid Suffolk, 10 miles East of Bury St Edmunds and 8 miles West of Stowmarket, Orchard House & Barn at Norton is well connected to the national transport system, being just 3 miles North of junction 47 of the A14.

Stowmarket Rail Station is 1 hour 15 minutes away from London Liverpool Street and trains from London and Peterborough (via Cambridge) stop at Thurston Stationn just 3 miles away.

We have a generous forecourt and Orchard House has ample off-street parking that is not visible from the road.

Directions

Easy to find, Orchard House is on the main A1088 that runs from Woolpit (junction 47 of the A14) North through Norton (and eventually to Thetford).

Travelling North from the A14 you will, after the village sign, reach a crossroads with the Petrol Station/shop and 'The Dog' Pub on your right with Orchard House a further 100 yards on your left.

There are hanging signs reading “Orchard House” and “Bed & Breakfast”.

If you are coming from the Thetford direction we are 400 yards further on from the road on the right signposted to 'Thurston' and 'Elm Farm Business Park' If you are using SatNav, you may find that it will place us 400yds to the North of our actual position.

The Area

Historic Cambridge is around 40 minutes to the West (by A14) and the Suffolk Coast can be reached in under an hour making Aldeburgh and Southwold a perfect destination for a day out.

Norwich is a similar distance, and well worth a visit.

Suffolk is full of famous sites and medieval settlements that have survived virtually untouched by the modern world.

Lavenham, Long Melford, Cavendish and Clare, Hadleigh and Hartest, Bildeston and more.

All make Orchard House & Barn at Norton an ideal setting for a relaxing short break as well as an overnight sanctuary from a hectic business schedule during the week.
